Stefan Filipov
Stefan Filipov started with the music at the age of 8, when he became part of the Sofia Boys’Choir and started studying solfeggio. The nine years in the choir gave him the opportunity to participate in numerous festivals in Bulgaria and Europe.
He started playing classical guitar at the age of 14. Gaining experience from various teachers, in 2013 he became a student of pop and jazz guitar at the National Academy of Music "Prof. Pancho Vladigerov". He completed his bachelor's degree in 2017. Meanwhile, his passion for jazz music inspired him to go to the Netherlands, where he studied guitar at the Jazz Faculty of the Conservatorium Maastricht. Some of the subjects he studied there were composition, arrangement, analysis and improvisation.
Stefan participated in workshops by Scott Cooley (double bass), Avishai Cohen (trumpet) and Mark Juliana (drums) - some of the most famous names on the contemporary American jazz scene.
